Colonial Williamsburg is a historic site in the city of Williamsburg, Virginia. It has 88 original buildings dating from 1699. It is a part of the Historic Triangle and it is a tourist attraction.

Restoration[]

In the early 20th century, John D. Rockefeller began the restoration and reconstruction of Colonial Williamsburg as a historic site. During the restoration, 720 Williamsburg buildings were demolished. Of approximately 500 buildings in the historic area, 88 are original.
